AK Week Debrief

Hello friends!

Thank you so much for all of your help with AK week. Please comment on this debrief with pros/cons/suggestions for improvement, and try to hit the following points:

-Promo: Was it effective? Would a simple uniform profile picture be better?
-Events: As a reminder, the days were as follows: Pay it forward, Star posters, Cookie Grams (no events Thursday/Friday)
-Cookie Grams: Is it worth the effort? Would it be bad to charge? Is there a more effective way?
-Any other day suggestions?

THANK YOU!

  1. First of all, I gotta say i was THOROUGHLY impressed with how you guys got 700 grams/messages printed, and organized in the span of like a day. On Friday during third they kind of just appeared, and I was in awe for a while. Major props for that.

I think the profile picture was really creative! Although I forgot to send in a photo (whoops :( ). Don't know how effective it was, because I didn't see it spammed too often, but I liked the idea. It was a lot more personal.

I really liked your events this week. The star posters would have to be my favorite, because I saw some really inspirational wishes. However, I guess there wasn't much of a call to action with the posters, but I think that was made up with the more active act of kindess on Monday.

Overall, awesome job rec. I thought it was planned and executed very well so y'all deserve to be proud :').

  2. Cookie grams were a huge success!! People really enjoyed them (ok, they enjoyed the free cookies), but the whole message thing was really cute. The other two were okay, but I don't think they reached as many people (I don't think a lot of people were aware of the compliment papers). Promo also left a little to be desired -- I think maybe next time we can consider asking tech to make a short and sweet video? Like the one from two years ago about the drive-thru thing -- that put a smile on my face. Otherwise, we might want to revert to last year's cover photo that showcases what each day is (like for spirit weeks.) Overall, nice job, it was a really good AK week!!

  3. Cookie grams were a great success!

I think Rec did a great job making this event happen. Although it seemed like some people didn't feel in the spirit of kindness, seeing the ones that did made it all worth it.

As far as cookie grams, I think it would be bad to charge for them. Maybe before you consider that idea, ask the clubs who sell things for finals like good luck grams and see how many they sell.

I think more days with specific events would be great! Each day had a theme, but it died and dropped off.

I think promo could have been better. I think we as a class need to consult the powerpoint Mrs. Badger gave to the class and use the lessons that she taught us to the fullest extent to make sure that the promo is effective.

Love the idea, keep up the good work!

  4. I think you guys did a great job! Cookie grams went really well, and it would be a good idea for next year. I kind of missed the first half of AK week, but I hope everything went smoothly.

I think promo could have been done better as well, perhaps with specific promo for each day or at least a cover photo with the different activities. I know we're a bit burnt out at this point in the year, but it is our responsibility as a class to continue to promo events so that the student body at least knows that something is happening.

Overall, great job. I feel like this year AK week got more attention than previous years, so keep up the good work!

  5. Promo could have been better, and we could definitely have a cover photo (like spirit week) for what each day is.

I also think a uniform profile picture would be better than the individual, different pictures we had this year, just to be able to spam and get the word out better and more clearly.

    Cookie grams were GREAT!!

    Overall, great job guys :)
