L-Factor Feedback

Hey Leadership!

You know the drill, let us know about the L-Factor because it was our first time ever! What you enjoyed, what you heard from others, what you liked.

Thank you all so much!

Love,
ASB Spirit <3

  1. I liked the L-factor! It seemed a little hectic in the beginning with the lack of set judges but it ended up working out really well. Tech did a great job with sound and the interest seemed to be rising throughout the week. Maybe there should have been a canopy for the judges since it seemed to be pretty painful to sit in the sun. + I think that if there were three judges throughout the whole week, there would not have been an awkward tie. Otherwise, good job :)

  2. For a first time event, I think the L Factor went really well! Things seemed a bit last minute, and we could have started planning and promo a bit earlier, but I think the student body liked watching this event. Also, because of testing week, we couldn't really do anything on announcements to remind people that it was happening. I think in future years, we'll be able to have more people sign up, which means more students interested in watching and supporting their friends.

I agree with Kimberly that the tie was a little awkward, and I think the main thing to improve on next year would be to make sure to have 3 judges for every day and to promote the event more.

    Overall, great job Spirit!

  3. I agree with Julia; for a first time event, the event went really well and a lot of people came out to watch.
The promo definitely was pretty last minute and not many people saw the event or clicked to indicate that they were attending. More planning beforehand could definitely help the promotion be more effective (to help the event gain immediate hype as opposed to rising interest throughout the week).
As for the judges, I think that element could have worked out better if the team of 3 (again, a constant team of judges is better) judges took on "personalities" from L-Factor / American Idol / similar shows. In Miller Idol, for example, I remember some of the most entertaining parts were the judge responses (imitating American Idol judges) to the singers.

Everything else was great. Great job, Spirit and Tech!

  4. Hi Spirit and Tech!
Great job on breaking out of the role of just four rallies a year! It was refreshing and exciting to see you guys pursuing new things. Overall, I thought the event was a success, and I'd love to see it happen again next year.
Pros: Fun and simple event, got to see people who aren't traditionally involved with ASB events, supportive student body, involved judges, smooth transitions on tech's part.
Improvements: Start promo a little bit earlier and come up with something more creative than just a Facebook event. Maybe have leadership students dress up as famous singers and profile the pictures?
-Judges-wise, contact judges at least TWO weeks before the event, and make sure you know which days they can make it and which days they cannot. Get back-up judges and send out email reminders and recaps to the following day's judges each day.
-I agree with prashant on the personalities! I loved seeing Mr. Headley be Simon Cowell and I think Mr. Wen could play that role pretty well.

    Great job!

  6. what went well: supportive student body, involved staff/judges

what could be improved: promo! I agree with Hima ^^ we should have leadership students dress as famous singers, and we should have profile pictures to promo

    -judges: personality. ^^

-also, the quad should be taped off/have a barrier becuase a lot of people were walking THROUGH the quad, which makes the event look less legit/blocks the view for the audience/is disrespectful to the performer(s)

    Overall, GREAT JOB SPIRIT! :)
