Thanks for teaching us the rules before hand, it was very well organized. The teams called out half of the fouls so it was easy for us to just judge.I enjoyed it alot and I was happy that many people came out to watch.Overall great Job!!!
I think the people who went to the Gym and watched enjoyed it a lot but the rest of the school didn't really know what was happening. I know that we were going to have finals and the teacher game in the quad and that would probably help involve more kids at school so maybe we could try that for next year? Overall, it was very well organized and it really helped that the refs knew the rules. Great Job!
I actually liked how March Madness was organized. I found it very exciting to have multiple games in the gym at the same time. Also, I noticed that asb commissioners were really just expected to be scorekeepers rather than referees. I think if that was made more clear, more people who do not really know basketball would have signed up.
Potential Improvements: A lot of people approached me to say that the fact that they had to self-reff was kind of annoying. I thought it was a lot easier on the reffs but the players said that when they are playing they don't like to call fouls themselves. I understand that it's difficult to make sure that every reff from our class knows all the rules to call the fouls but maybe if we could get some teachers/coaches involved that know the rules they could help out since they were there everyday anyways.
What went well: The number of signups!! There were so many people in the gym the first day it was great! :)
I think that overall you guys did really good. For my first march madness it was really smooth. The only thing that I thought could have been better were the self reffing thing. Some people were annoyed that they were calling things by them selves, but I thought that it was better this way personally. Great job guys!
I thought the event was very smooth. It would be nice for judges to have pre-made scoring sheets with the names of the teams that are printed out rather than little scraps of paper.
I wouldn't expand the event too much because in the process of making it longer and more rushed, we lose overall attendance.
An organized system of day-to-day scores is definitely needed. For students who have club meetings, there should be a centralized page to find out how much each team won/loss by. Maybe even a blog.. just a thought.
