Please comment with some pros and cons/your opinions about the Townhall Meeting last Friday, as well as ideas for future townhalls. Once again, thanks for coming!
I think the tone of the meeting was good—serious, but not overly formal—however, attendance was not so great.
Next time, we should try doing more promotion such as posters and profile pictures.
We could also make it clear that you will only receive answers to the questions you submit by attending the meeting. It surprised me that there was such a big difference between the number of questions asked on the G form and the actual number of people who attended.
Pros: -Tone: Conversational but also informational -People were able to easily ask questions
Cons: -Attendance/ Lack of Promotion -Passing the mikes looked awkward. Having multiple mikes would be better! -Pauses between some questions left the audience hanging.
I think it was overall a great event. The ASB officers were prepared for all the questions but unfortunately the lack of people made it hard for the event. Like Eric said, more promotion next time would be a good thing. I think we need to make it clear to students that ASB is trying to answer their questions and they need to participate if they want to know the reasoning behind all of the changes. But congratulations to the ASBO team for handling a difficult event!
