Club Info Day

Hello all!

Club info day was last Friday, could you please give us some feedback?
What were some complaints you heard, what did not work well? and overall, in general, how was it?

Best,
Clubs

  1. Pros:
-the tables were arranged in a really good way to me and helped with the overall flow
-keeping bboys at the top was fun cause we could watch them perform
-having music playing was super fun!!

    Cons:
-it was a bit confusing cause I didn't really know where to find everything--maybe include a map like at CFD last year?
-not sure if you guys have any control over this, but you may wanna tell robotics to let people know before they shoot a giant ball into the crowd...seemed like kind of a safety hazard to me, even though it was fun
-it was hard to actually go look at a couple of the clubs I was interested in just cause they were serving food and that made a HUGE crowd around their booth. I think you should restrict giving out food just on this day. They already hand it out at the first meeting and they have food club day.

    Overall, AMAZING job clubs!!

Tbh I don't remember last years club info day to compare, but I can say it's been the best one I've been to!!

  2. what worked well:
    -tables were organized
    -the music made it fun

    what didn't work well:
-it wasn't very clear that serving food was not allowed; some clubs were still serving food => crowded booths, traffic in the quad
-some regulations might be needed for clubs to demo things, ie robotics
-traffic in the quad sometimes, made it harder for people to walk by

    BUT OVERALL, IT WAS FUN!
Thanks clubs and good job :)

  3. Pros:
    - every club seemed to know where they were supposed to be
    - music was a plus!

    Cons:
    - i agree with mira! a map for people to find certain clubs would have been beneficial!
    - the process to getting a spot for a club itself was unclear to some of the people i talked to. maybe it was discussed the the meeting for club presidents, but yeah just putting out what i heard!
    - i hadn't heard the rule about no serving food either, maybe make it more clear next time

overall, i had a blast! great job clubs! :)

  4. Pros:
-Seemed like there was enough spacing for students to walk around and mingle
    -Music was a nice touch
-Easy to figure out where your own table was that you had to set up in

    Cons:
    -A map would be awesome!
-Clubs have no idea what the rules (and laws) are when it comes to serving food.
-Clubs on sides seemed to not get as much traffic, maybe instead of line make it a curve next time?

  5. Pros:
-The tables were set up in a way that made access to each table really easy.
-There was enough space for people to get around without colliding.
    -Music :)

    Cons:
-Club presidents were unsure about whether or not they could leave class early. There was no clarification on whether you needed a note from your advisor or if there was an email being sent out.
-Some clubs had trouble with finding their table. Clubs were taking tables that were not assigned to them so a few clubs were very confused.
-Clubs never received any rules about what they can do/can't do so a rule sheet would be a good idea.

Overall, the event itself was really successful and I feel the students (especially the freshmen) benefitted from the various club demonstrations.

  6. Pros-Good arrangement of tables. It was a hit, so many people flooded the Quad. The music and the dance area were great.

Cons-No food rule should be more clear.
other than that you guys were amazing thanks <3

  7. Everything seemed to go really well, and most of the Pros and Cons have already been said.
-In addition to making a map with the placement of clubs, maybe release one on the FB event a day or two before club info day? Then people will have an idea of where they want to go and not get swept away by the chaos on the day of.
-Group clubs together based on interest so it's easier for people to explore what they're interested in? (Though I'm not sure if that'll breed too much competition...)

Overall it seemed like it went well logistically, great job! :)
